GOLDEN ROSE - FESTIVAL OF BULGARIAN FEATURE FILM

  • Golden Rose is a Bulgarian film festival, held since 1961 in Varna. It includes two competitions - for feature-length and short fiction film.
 

SOFIA FILM FEST

  • In the ranking of the top 50 festivals according to "Variety" magazine. Among the guests of the festival there are prominent names such as Wim Wenders, Volker Schlöndorff, Jean-Claude Carriere, Katya Rheem, Karl Baumgartner and Claudia Cardinale.
 

KINOMANIA

  • KINOMANIA stats up in 1987 as World Film Panorama. Now is annual film festival with movies from all over the world.
 

NU BOYANA FILM STUDIOS

  • Boyana Film was created as a state film center in 1962. Today it is modern complex of studios, which can take 95% of the needs of each film.

The Bulgarian Association of Cinematographers BAC has received on 15th of November 2020 a financial gift, provided by SONY and transferred by The International Federation of Cinematographers IMAGO for supporting the members of BAC who due to the COVID-19 pandemic circumstances in the country were not able to shoot film projects.

This financial gift has been distributed in person at this stage among the Bulgarian cinematographers.

BAC would like to express its sincere gratitude to SONY and IMAGO for this gift.

After the complete lock down due to the coronavirus pandemic of all film and festival events,
the GOLDEN EYE international cinematography festival will actually happen.
It will take place in the town of Popovo from 08.10.2020 to 10.10.2020.

Applications are accepted until 31.07.2020. For more details see the festival regulations.

At the 37th edition of the National Film Festival “Golden Rose” in Varna, Bulgaria September (27th - 4th, 2019), the award for best cinematographer went to Veselin Hristov for the highly aesthetic visual concept of the film SISTER, directed by Svetla Tsotsorkova.

We congratulates Veselin Hristov's award and wishes him more success with this film.
